Surf foiling lessons

About

Flow foiling was founded by Newcastle waterman Dylan Henry you could say many years ago, but the name Flow Foiling really became a reality in 2023 when Dylan was competing in the Maui to Molokai channel crossing foil race.

When teaching we constantly talk about having to be 100% in the present moment and that’s where the concept of Flow state comes into play.

The term “flow state” describes a mental state in which a person is completely focused on a single task or activity. They are directing all of their attention toward the task, and they do not experience many thoughts about themselves or their performance.

The importance of being in the flow state when foiling is critical but also extremely fluid and peaceful at the same time as there’s no noise, no resistance & no other feeling of its kind.

Dylan has been a stand up paddle coach since 2011 and foiling coach since 2019 creating NSW’s first legal foil school along with competing and riding along side some of the best waterman in the world such as Kai Lenny & Dave Kalama. Having travelled to the USA and Hawaii countless times to ride in the best training waters the world can offer has given Dylan a wealth of experience, insight & knowledge many will never get to experience to the same degree. Now Dylan has structured this experience into teaching beginner & intermediate riders how to foil for the first time, foil in the waves both prone and SUP, flat water paddle up, downwind bay and ocean foiling, pump foil & the newest addition of E-Foiling.

The foil school is equipped with the highest level of safety equipment & premium quality foil gear provided by Lift, Kalama Performance, Wild sleds, Pro Guarding, BBTalkin Intercom.

Check out the Lesson tab for more information.

Dylan recently downwind foiled from Fingal Bay in Port Stephens to Newcastle, the total distance was 48.5km and only took 2 hours and 2 minutes. The whole way on foil! Check out the footage here: YouTube - Flow Foiling
